  • December Days..

It has been a wonderful month in South Carolina. I have been enjoying the warmer weather and the sunshine!  It is also a crazy time at work, but that goes with the retail territory.  Here are some pictures of me and the tree and my amazing stocking!
My birthday is coming up soon and I am so very excited. A group of great friends and I are going to dinner downtown and then going to a park to look at lights and roasting marshmallows.  I hope you all have a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year!!
    I truly am blessed!
I am such a proud sister!
*Please pray for my brother and family as he leaves for Iraq in February for a while..it will be hard on us as a family as well as my sister in law and niece and nephew!*

  • Nothing new to report..

As I have been contemplating this past month I come to realize that I have not blogged in a while and so I thought I should update.  Then I got to thinking that there really is nothing new to update.  Jobs are still in tact. I have taken on more work with the tutoring agency so my days off from Dick's Land are days I work with the tutoring agency.  So that is a check.
Then I thought about upcoming Thanksgiving. I am not going home or not going to be able to see any family so I am staying here in Charleston. I am going to spend Thanksgiving with a coworker and fiance.  It will be great to get to know them better as well as hopefully let them see the love of Jesus.
Christmas is right around the corner and as well as my birthday...whoo hoo for me.
That has been my life in a nutshell for this past month. Thankful for no big issues, thankful for understanding family (my brother and family that I can't make it to them), and thankful for friends for having a few places to go to for the big Turkey Day!
The one funniest thing I saw though was last night my roommate showed me the clip from the Today show with the drunk Ewoks for their Halloween show and it was super hilarious! I will try to put it on here, but since I am a touch technologically challenged, go to YouTube and look for the drunk Ewoks! Hilarious!!!! I will try to get it on facebook..

  • My favorite things about Fall...

This picture was taken in my first Fall in NY with my mom..the leaves changed, pumpkins came out and the air was crisp.  It was beautiful, but I am so thankful I am in SC now.  The leaves have not necessarily changed, but the air is getting a little crisp, there are less mosquitoes and it is gorgeous!
Today I am making Cinnamon Streussel bread and watching the original Friday the 13th...For those who know me know I love horror movies. I am not talking satanic, gore type movie but the good jump out of your seat scary movies. My brother and I used to watch them together all the time and when we are together we try to get at least one good scary movie in.  It just make me think of all those times we got scared and how we have become scary movie critics!  I just love my brother.
This blog is a bit random but I also wanted to pay tribute to my brother as he is leaving for Iraq for a year in December.  It will be hard not to talk to him when I want, but I am excited for him to see the world outside America and I know God will protect him as he right now is the "man in my life".  I believe every girl needs an older brother to be her protector.
Fall is a great time to think of old times and be thankful for the goodness God has given me all these years and thankful for the people He has put in my path and will continue to do so.
God has been taking me down different paths this last year. I do miss teaching and being part of a school, but I have been doing retail and moving up in that business and recruiting for a tutoring agency.  I have enjoyed this aspect of my life.  God is good even to those who are not always daily faithful.
This time of year also makes me miss Vienna as there are so many things going on in the Fall there. With all the cool festivals, Long Night of Museums, and Fall school functions.
    I am truly blessed!

    Grace and Peace...

  • Did you ever...

have one of those moments where you think things are running smoothly and then Whammo!  God is hilarious this way as He makes sure that not only am I on His page, but the page of reality.  Since I am a fairly honest person there are times when I just want to as open as possible and then there are times I just want to be a recluse in my shell.  The one thing God has been showing me all my life is that I need to rely on Him for my finances. If I could say I had 1 worry that was a constant is the fact of money and finances.  When I think I am a little ahead something comes up from the past and then I am knocked back down.
This is not a matter of complaining, but just a frustration with myself. I wish I could just let it go. I am a pretty happy person and enjoy life, but if I could have someone just take them over and give me an allowance I would be feel a little more free.
On a lighter note, I am loving living here!  I drive over the Ashley River to work and see a lot of pretty sunsets as well. The weather is great as I hear it is already cool in NY.  Thank God for sun and warmth. I have good friends nearby and enjoyed spending time with them.
Since this is such a random blog entry I will throw this in...I painted some brown spots on the ceiling yesterday so no more poopy spots..they are from water stains.
I am thankful for each day and am thankful for my dear friends and family.

  • The South Shall Rise Again??

Since moving to the South again, I have forgotten some of the ways that are both good and interesting at the same time.
I do love it here and have enjoyed being here with all the plantations, beaches, and gorgeous downtown!  The whole idea of  having people say "yes ma'am" or "no ma'am" to me all the time no matter their age.  The funniest is calling the father of your child (that does not necessarily mean your husband) your "baby daddy" gives me a laugh every time I hear it.
I am also thankful for finding a church, I think. I have attended one service in the morning since moving here and it was great, but have not had the chance to be back since as I work in retail and it does not give me the opportunity to go as often as I like.
I have also reconnected with a few people who have moved here from Vienna so hopefully we can get together soon to have lunch. I do not want the busyness of life stop me from seeing these precious people!
My roommate and I have the typical Joey and Chandler house..no couch just 2 chairs looking at the TV..no curtains either..sad..one day once things get more financially stable, curtains and a small loveseat will be the order of the day.

I have transplanted myself amongst the South and am thankful for the blessings that God has provided for me.
